Finance ManagementIn the May 29th Chronicle of Evidence-Based Mentoring, Dr. Jean Rhodes featured this study as follows. This intellectually challenging programme of study will focus on current issues, themes and applications within the field of finance and financial management, and your analytical, critical and problem solving skills will be extended through the academic evaluation of literature and current financial practices. You will cover topics including quantitative methods for finance, financial markets and institutions, strategic management, corporate finance and the globalisation of finance to name but a few.

Your tutors will take a proactive role in continually reviewing the financial sector and the relevance of the programme on a regular basis. You will normally be expected to hold a relevant degree from a recognised university or from an equivalent awarding institution at upper second class honours level or above. Potential roles may include: Finance Manager; Financial Controller; Business Strategist and Financial Consultant.

Alternatively, you may possess a relevant first degree of at least lower second-class honours level combined with a relevant professional qualification or relevant professional experience of at least two years. The success of an enterprise depends on the effective management of capital invested by shareholders and a proper corporate governance framework.

Those without a first degree may qualify for entry to the programme on the basis of considerable relevant work experience normally comprising at least five years at managerial or equivalent level which would be subject to scrutiny by the programme team. Final year undergraduates and alumni of the University are eligible to apply for a 15% reduction in their postgraduate tuition fees if they choose to progress onto a higher degree programme at LJMU.

A bursary will be available for students who must complete the six week English for Postgraduate Studies course to improve their IELTS score by 0.5 prior to enrolling on their postgraduate taught or research degree at LJMU. This bursary take the form of a tuition fee waiver, which will be deducted from your tuition fee when you enrol on your degree programme.Finance Management
