Overall, I say good job NYC Dept of Finance for making an annoying process easy, stress-free and fair. In the past decade, I’ve visited New York two or three times a year and have usually found parking spots on streets that work. I tried calling the NY tow pound number several times and only got lost in recording hell. The bottom line is this experience soured my visit to the point that we cut it short and just drove the five hours home to Maryland, rather than find a hotel in NY, getting in at 1 a.m. I realize the safest way is to park in a garage, but even when I have done that there have been problems like scratches on the car and parking tickets.
